My father, Soltész Zoltán, started to produce these doorstops in 1982 as there were no other similar products to be found in Hungary that could be used to keep open doors from moving. He had to find out from his experience that a device was needed because the fall wind blew the garage door against his car. He patented and protected the doorstop at the Hungarian Patent Office and it was published in the official, monthly publication of the Hungarian Patent Office, in the Gazette of Patents and Trademarks Volume 87. No. 8. The product has received the Hungarian Qualiform Award on 17 July, 1986. In 1996 the Soltész BT was established and the production and marketing is still continuing.
